This Privacy Policy explains how Heal Cancer Support ("HCS," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use www.healcancersupport.com, our WhatsApp-based care navigation service, or any related applications (the "Platform"). "Personal Data" refers to information that can identify you, such as name, contact details, health reports, or medication lists.

IS REGISTRATION NECESSARY?

Registration or basic identification (such as your phone number) is required to access our care navigation services, coordinate your care over time, and recover your information if you change devices. If you reach us through a program offered by an employer, hospital, or insurer, you may need to register with them and share Personal Data, for which HCS is not responsible.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We collect:

  • Personal Data: Name, phone number, email, address, age/date of birth, gender, and, for Sakhi users, menstrual cycle information. We may record or log WhatsApp and call conversations for quality and continuity of care.
  • Health Content: Uploaded pathology reports, lab results, scans, prescriptions, discharge summaries, vitals, and medication lists shared for Second Opinion review, Continuum Care, or Onco Nutrition planning.
  • Third-Party Data: Personal Data provided by a hospital, employer program, or family member registering you for care.
  • Automatically Collected Data: IP address, device/browser type, and activity on the Platform. This is not Personal Data unless linked to identifiable information.
  • Cookies/Web Beacons: Used to understand website interactions and improve services. You can manage cookie preferences via browser settings.

By using the Platform, you consent to the collection, storage, processing, disclosure, and transfer of your Personal Data per this Privacy Policy and applicable Indian law. You provide this data voluntarily, understanding its purpose and use.

HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT?

We use Personal Data to:

  • Coordinate Second Opinion review, Continuum Care, Onco Nutrition, and Sakhi cycle tracking.
  • Identify government schemes, insurance benefits, and lower-cost care options you may qualify for.
  • Respond to inquiries and provide care-navigator support.
  • Analyse usage trends and improve our tools and chatbot.
  • Send transactional updates and, with consent, wellness or promotional communications.
  • Detect and prevent misuse of the Platform.

We do not use your health information to make a final clinical or treatment decision on our own — every clinical output is reviewed by a qualified member of our clinical team, and the decision always rests with you and your treating doctor.

SHARING PERSONAL DATA

We share Personal Data only as follows:

  • With our clinical team and multidisciplinary board, to review your case.
  • With hospitals, labs, and diagnostic partners, to coordinate tests or a second opinion you've requested.
  • With government scheme administrators or insurers, where you've asked us to help you access a benefit.
  • With third-party service providers (cloud storage, messaging infrastructure, payment processing, analytics) under confidentiality obligations.
  • With authorities, to comply with legal obligations.
  • To protect HCS's or users' rights, safety, or property.

We do not sell or rent Personal Data for marketing purposes.

YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

  • Access or correct your Personal Data.
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time.
  • Withdraw consent by contacting our Grievance Officer at privacy@healcancersupport.com. Withdrawal may limit your access to certain services.
  • Request amendments to inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data.
  • Request deletion, subject to legal or clinical record-keeping requirements. Deletion occurs within 30 days, though archived copies may remain as required by law.

LINKS TO OTHER SITES OR APPLICATIONS

The Platform may link to third-party sites, apps, or messaging services (such as WhatsApp), which are governed by their own privacy policies. HCS is not responsible for their content or practices.

INTERNATIONAL USERS

Our clinical team is licensed to practise in India, and our servers and operations are based in India. If you use the Platform from outside India, your Personal Data may be transferred to and processed in India. By using the Platform, you consent to this transfer and processing, and you are responsible for compliance with the laws of your own jurisdiction.

OUR POLICY TOWARDS CHILDREN

The Platform, including Sakhi Care Navigator, is not intended for minors under 18. If we ever support a minor's cancer care through a parent or guardian, that guardian is subject to this Privacy Policy on the minor's behalf.

CHANGES

We may update this Privacy Policy, notifying you via the Platform, email, WhatsApp, or push notification. Continued use after changes indicates your agreement to the revised policy.
